Overview

Clerk to Governors – Parrett & Axe Primary School

The clerk to the Governing Body will be accountable to the Governing Body, working effectively with the chair of governors, the Headteacher and other governors. The clerk will advise the Governing Body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The clerk will secure the continuity of Governing Body business and observe confidentiality requirements. This role is 3 hours per week, term time only (39 working weeks). Dorset Grade 5.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Pro rata salary is based on hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements. (Dorset Grade 5)
  • The post is UK based; Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
  • The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; some spent convictions may be protected as per the exceptions order and DBS guidance.
  • Safeguarding: Keeping Children Safe in Education; online checks may be conducted as part of safeguarding checks for shortlisted candidates.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required in line with safer recruitment guidelines.
