Verwood CE First School is looking for a Teaching Assistant G5 to join our fantastic team. This job is Full Time - Term Time for 30 hours per week and 39 weeks per year (term time plus training days). It is offered on a Temporary basis until 31st August 2026. Approximate start date 01-Sep-2025.

We are looking for an experienced TA to work one to one with a year 1 pupil who has an Educational Healthcare Plan for interaction and communication needs. We therefore require a teaching assistant who has experience of working with children with specific needs and knowledge of the required support. There may also be a requirement for school lunchtime supervision duties.

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
