Vacancy: Teaching Assistant

(Initial Fixed Term to August 2026)

Immediate Start

We are looking for a highly motivated teaching assistant to join us from September 2025 on a fixed term contract for 30 hours per week. The post is Monday to Friday, term time only.

The prime responsibility will be to provide class-based learning support for children in KS1 or KS2. There may also be a significant element of supporting children with special educational needs. Supervising children at lunchtime is also a key requirement of the role. In the first instance, the post is for a fixed term of 12 months, to allow time to review the staffing structure going forward.

Applicants from experienced teaching assistants or graduates / school leavers who are considering entering the teaching profession would be particularly welcome. Set in the heart of Christchurch, we offer a caring community, delightful children and a staff who aspire to achieve the very best.
