Person specification
Qualifications
- A good honours degree in Physics or related subject and / or equivalent knowledge / experience.
- Relevant M.Sc. and successful completion of the STP training scheme in an appropriate specialism, or equivalent.
- Registration with the HCPC.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years working / training in appropriate specialism/s within Medical Physics (includes the STP scheme or equivalent).
- Knowledge & experience of appropriate ionising radiations legislation, QC and optimisation techniques.
Technical Skills
- Able to use Excel, Word, Access etc. to set up documents, spreadsheets and databases and extract information.
- Able to use specialized software to analyse complex data. Much of the complex imaging equipment used is software based.
Knowledge
- Understanding of risks arising from a range of imaging techniques.
- Understanding of patient and staff risks arising from ionising radiation exposure.
Language
- Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.
