The predicted salary is between 12 - 12 £ per hour.

Part time - 22.5 hours per week (3 days out of 7 - with some weekend working). Location: Based from Corsham Warehouse.

WHY THIS ROLE?

Looking for a practical, hands‑on role with purpose? Our charity retail operation plays a vital role in funding compassionate, specialist care for people with life‑limiting illnesses and their families. Every collection and delivery you complete directly helps support our patients and their loved ones. As a Van Driver at Dorothy House Hospice Care, you'll be responsible for collecting and delivering donated stock between our shops, warehouse, and customers' homes. You'll be a key ambassador for Dorothy House, providing a friendly, professional service while helping keep our retail operation running smoothly. We'll provide the training, support and equipment you need to succeed. This role would suit someone who enjoys driving, physical work, and being part of a team that makes a real impact in the community.

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

  • Safely collecting and delivering donated stock to and from shops, customers' homes, the warehouse and other agreed locations
  • Driving Dorothy House vehicles responsibly and in line with road traffic laws and organisational policies
  • Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly
  • Keeping vehicles clean, tidy and compliant with all legal requirements
  • Providing excellent customer service when interacting with donors, customers, staff and volunteers
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers, both face‑to‑face and over the phone
  • Supporting the efficient use of space and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse, vehicles and storage areas
  • Supporting the effective operation of the Gift Aid scheme by collecting donor information in line with GDPR guidelines
  • Working flexibly to meet the needs of the retail operation, including responding to changes in procedures or priorities

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Experienced driver with a full and clean UK driving licence
  • Physically fit and able to meet the manual handling demands of the role
  • A courteous, professional manner with a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Flexibility in working patterns to meet operational needs

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience working in retail, a charity environment or as a commercial driver
