House Clearance Team Leader in Corsham

Please note that this is an internal position only, and is only available to current Dorothy House staff members and volunteers. This role puts you at the heart of our House Clearance team - working directly with customers, leading your team, and ensuring every clearance delivers the best possible outcome for Dorothy House and the people we support.

The role will include:

• Leading and completing full house clearance services from customer properties, ensuring items are removed, sorted and prepared to generate income.
• Driving a Dorothy House 3.5T Luton van to transport stock between properties, warehouse, shops and recycling centres.
• Managing and supporting a team of staff, volunteers and drivers during clearance activities and within the warehouse.
• Sorting stock into saleable, recyclable and waste categories, maximising income and reducing waste.
• Supporting customers throughout the clearance process, including booking, quoting and on-site visits.
• Leading the safe unloading, sorting and distribution of stock within the warehouse.
• Working closely with the Warehouse and Van Fleet Manager to improve processes and support operational delivery.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, following Dorothy House health and safety procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and representing Dorothy House in a professional and positive way.

HOURS OF WORK

This is a Part Time position, working 22.5 hours a week over 3 days. Due to the nature of this role, you may on rare occasion be requested to work on a weekend day.

ABOUT YOU

Please note that only existing Dorothy House employees / volunteers are eligible to apply for this role.

Essential requirements:

• Holds a full UK driving licence with the ability to drive 3.5T vehicles, with confidence driving vans as part of day-to-day (e.g. collections, deliveries, house clearances).
• Experience working in a physically active, hands-on environment involving manual handling (e.g. warehouse, removals, retail stock movement or similar).
• Demonstrates the ability to lead and support a small team – providing direction and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrates a good manner of customer service skills.
• Ability to organise and manage workload across different locations and tasks (e.g. planning clearances, coordinating collections, balancing warehouse support).

Desirable requirements:

• Experience working in house clearance, removals, waste management or similar services (e.g. property clearance, recycling or disposal work).
• Experience working with or supporting volunteers in an operational environment (e.g. giving direction, supporting day-to-day activity).
