As our Business Unit Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the delivery of multiple large-scale data centre projects across Europe. You will guide engineering teams through every project phase—from tender and pre-construction to installation and commissioning—ensuring consistency, excellence, and innovation at every step. This role offers exceptional scope: strategic influence, technical depth, cross-project oversight, and the chance to help steer how Dornan delivers some of the most advanced facilities in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activity across a diverse portfolio of European datacentre projects, acting as the central link between design, engineering, BIM, supply chain partners and on-site delivery teams.
  • Support project teams across Europe, embedding consistent engineering standards, driving continuous improvement, and using performance tools such as Power BI to monitor quality and progress.
  • Guide technical decision-making, oversee design assurance, and support tendering, value engineering and procurement to ensure safe, sustainable and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Play an active role in securing smooth commissioning and handover by coordinating closely with design teams, suppliers and operations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning with the Operations Director, helping shape team structures, resource allocation and long-term engineering capability across the business unit—ensuring teams have the training and support.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working within data centre environments or similar complex MEP heavy projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Engineering role.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
  • This role does involve extensive travelling.
