DMG New Media is building the next generation of social-first publishing, creating platform-native brands across news, sport, lifestyle, entertainment and culture for global audiences. Our network reaches hundreds of millions of people across social platforms each month, and we are now expanding into long‑form video and YouTube. We are looking for a YouTube Lead to lead this next phase of growth. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the YouTube strategy across the DMG New Media portfolio, building a high‑performing team, and developing scalable video franchises that translate our social reach into a powerful long‑form ecosystem.

The YouTube Lead will lead the end‑to‑end YouTube strategy for DMG New Media, working with editorial, creators and commercial teams to build a slate of high‑performing channels and formats. This person will be responsible for turning existing social brands and talent into successful YouTube propositions, while also identifying new channel opportunities that can scale globally. They will lead the development of repeatable formats, oversee all output, and build the operational structure required to grow a significant YouTube publishing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the YouTube strategy for DMG New Media across multiple brands and verticals.
  • Identify new channel opportunities, franchises and content formats that can scale on the platform.
  • Translate social‑first brands into successful long‑form video propositions.
  • Oversee all YouTube output across the network.
  • Develop repeatable formats and franchises designed for audience growth and retention.
  • Use data, analytics and platform insights to optimise content performance.
  • Build and lead a dedicated YouTube production team including producers, editors and eventually channel managers.
  • Establish workflows, commissioning processes and publishing cadence across channels.
  • Create a scalable production model capable of supporting multiple channels.
  • Work with DMG creators and external talent to develop creator‑led YouTube formats.
  • Identify opportunities to launch creator channels and talent partnerships.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to develop sponsorship‑ready formats and branded content opportunities.
  • Ensure YouTube output supports wider revenue growth across the business.
  • Build strong integration between short‑form social output and long‑form YouTube programming.
  • Develop distribution strategies that leverage DMG’s large social footprint to drive YouTube growth.
Experience Required
  • Significant experience running YouTube channels or video publishing businesses at scale.
  • Strong understanding of YouTube audience growth, formats, algorithms and monetisation.
  • Experience building and managing video production teams.
  • Proven ability to develop repeatable video formats and franchises.
  • Experience working within a publisher, digital media company or creator‑led media business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience working with brand partnerships.
