As a Product Engineer, you will report to the Senior Product Engineer (Global Sustainment or Original Equipment) and provide engineering support across assigned product lines at Wolverhampton. Due to the continued growth of our operations, this role offers the opportunity to work on increasingly complex products that require technical guidance and innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with other Product Engineering team members and work independently when required. The role may also involve leading special projects. You will support workshop technicians with technical queries, perform engineering investigations, prepare repair and assembly documentation, and contribute to product improvement initiatives that influence overall product performance, cost, and reliability. You may also engage in customer- or supplier-facing activities, such as during engineering investigations or product validation.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic problem solver, capable of coordinating activities across multiple departments. Your work will have a direct impact on product quality, turn‑around times, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and maintain repair and assembly work instructions
  • Specify, implement, and validate product rework methods
  • Promote a culture of compliance with procedures to maintain product integrity, collaborating with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Programs, Test Equipment, EHS, and Supply Chain to resolve issues
  • Lead and implement process improvements aligned with business objectives
  • Support the introduction of new product lines and repairs (OE and GS)
  • Design, improve, and organize repair and assembly tooling to meet requirements
  • Review test equipment and propose improvements
  • Review and assist in the proofing of technical publications
  • Coordinate and conduct engineering investigations
  • Produce technical reports and documentation
  • Raise and monitor non‑conformance reports (NCs)
  • Track and improve First Pass Yield (FPY) to enhance performance
  • Facilitate design changes through drawing redlining and initiating ECN processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in repair, assembly, and test areas
Key Skills & Expertise
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience in aerospace or a similarly complex industry
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical actuation, with ability to diagnose faults and specify rework
  • Ability to identify producibility and quality improvements in assembly, test, and product design
  • Capacity to make engineering judgments and produce technical justifications
  • Ability to work directly from engineering drawings, CMM data, service bulletins, process specifications, and test procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
  • Experience in aerospace maintenance or OE production environments is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating with customers and suppliers on complex projects is desirable
  • General knowledge of Root Cause / Corrective Action, Lean principles, project planning, data acquisition, and analysis
