Moog Wolverhampton is seeking a skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is central to the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for precision machined aerospace components across a range of advanced materials. You will play a key role in new product introduction, legacy product support, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring manufacturing excellence across Quality, Cost, and Delivery metrics.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes from 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Create machining strategies for complex aerospace components (predominantly turning of medium-sized parts).
- Program Mill/Turn components using 3D CAD/CAM systems (Siemens NX or Edgecam preferred).
- Design fixtures and tooling; support gauging and special tooling approval.
- Lead and support DFM, DFSS, APQP activities (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA).
- Establish standard operation times and drive Lean improvements to eliminate the 7 wastes.
- Provide practical problem‑solving support (RCCA, non‑conformance mitigation).
- Support shop floor operations, including attendance at daily PRB meetings.
- Develop turnkey process packages for deployment across Moog manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Participate in a shared morning shift rotation (approximately once every 8 weeks).
- Flexibility to support business needs, including minimal travel.
- HNC/HND (preferred) or Level 3 Apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
- Significant progressive experience in manufacturing/process engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of Mill/Turn machining (turning focus).
- 3D CAD/CAM proficiency (Siemens NX or Edgecam).
- SolidWorks or Siemens NX CAD experience.
- Fixture design and tooling selection.
- NC post‑processing.
- SAP/Solumina experience.
- Lean, Six Sigma, DFM, DFSS, APQP methodologies.
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Wire erosion.
- Deburring processes.
- Special process plating and coating.
- Zoller tool setting capability.
