We are seeking an HR Business Partner to support business units across the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands for up to 12 months. Fluent Dutch is required, and German is preferred. The role will provide expert advice across employee relations, talent management, organisational change, and HR operations, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regional employment requirements.
People Partnering Support designated business unit(s) and region(s) leaders and employees by strengthening Strategic Partnership & Business Impact, Talent Optimization, Leadership Effectiveness, and HR Partnership & Execution by working closely with leaders to shape people strategies, develop talent, and deliver consistent, high-quality HR support that drives business performance.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide expert advice, coaching, and counsel to leaders and employees on HR programs, policy and procedures, employment laws, conflict resolution, performance levels, change management, and organisational development to promote a fair and equitable work environment.
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement. Review ways to improve the execution of HR delivery.
- Translate workforce data/metrics into meaningful plans for leadership to act upon.
- Maintain current and complete understanding of European laws; protect the company’s interests by ensuring all legal requirements for equal employment and compliance are met by keeping informed of changes in these areas and by implementing the necessary practices/programs.
- Participate and consult with leaders on company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., performance management, salary review, workforce planning, organisational change, and special projects).
- Lead annual Human Resources projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in cross-functional initiatives.
- Research human resources issues and make recommendations to improve programs, processes, and/or efficiency.
- Lead key strategic projects for assigned business units/region including: Equal Pay Act, Annual talent, compensation cycle, Creation, delivery of EMEA-wide Manhattan People Experience content, Implementation of new legislation.
Policy, Compliance & Local Frameworks:
- Provide clear, compliant HR policies and local practices that protect the business, enable confident decisions, and build employee trust.
- Health & Safety compliance: assessments, audits, documentation, training.
- Time & Leave Booklets review and updates in January, annually.
- Benefits Booklets review and updates in January, annually.
- Employee Handbooks review and updates in January, annually and as required.
- Workday testing, time reporting for vacation and all leave types.
Talent Management:
- Support leaders on all talent processes including: Independently lead employee relations processes.
- Ensure all MPOWER 2 ratings have a performance improvement plan in place and track attainment to successful contributor or work with leader on corrective actions.
- Independently lead on all involuntary exits ensuring that employee engagement, financial and legal compliance requirements are met.
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer–employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and engagement.
- Work closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies and programs related to talent management.
- Lead the following talent programmes: Business Talent Review preparation, Promotion identification, Career plan development planning, Top Talent identification, Succession plans, Build relevant pipeline for key positions.
Develop Leadership Effectiveness:
- Roundtables for managers.
- Facilitate engagement activities, roundtables, new leader assimilation exercises and team building.
- Create quarterly PPTs for Service Awards, Spirit Awards.
- Lead on all Purpose Day activities for the region, creating opportunities for team purpose days with chosen charities.
- Ensure all teams participate in these activities.
- Lead on all regional Wellbeing activities, coordinating Wellbeing days and business unit participation to global wellbeing challenges.
- Lead on global MA Connect events such as charity partnerships and coordination of Earth Day Activities.
Payroll & Administration:
- Accountable for accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and HR administration across the employee lifecycle, ensuring approved Workday data integrity.
- Prior to the monthly payroll prep meeting, ensure all payroll entries are ready and complete.
- Ensure all Workday actions are fully approved and HRAF’s saved on the payroll file and all changes are entered onto the Payroll Validation sheet.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation and Workday input for new hires, separations, transfers, and sickness absence with every action fully approved.
- Ensure all leave types are fully approved for payroll cutoff.
- Create HRAF’s for all ad hoc payroll changes, ensuring a clear factual explanation is provided for every change.
- Process relocation allowances and Global Path salary advances with Finance, ensuring salary deduction letters are signed and the deduction arranged via HRAF in the correct months.
- Track and record all sickness absence data.
- Support employees with applications for maternity, paternity, and parental leave.
- Ensure that leave is accurately documented in Workday.
- Produce accurate confirmation letters and maintain records for audit purposes.
- Support with Global Path international transfers.
- Interact with the Global Mobility team and immigration consultants and tax advisors.
- Work with the Global Mobility team to provide supporting information to obtain work permits and visas.
- Complete all new hire/separation administration.
- Deliver New Hire Orientation and complete new hire check-in meetings with new hires, ensuring that these are documented in Workday and file.
Education / Experience Essential:
- Degree or HR qualification or relevant business experience.
- Experience of supporting the UK, Dutch, and German markets.
- Fluent Dutch and English & language skills. German language preferred.
- Proven experience of working in an operational HR role within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand the business and take a business/commercial approach to finding solutions.
