We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help shape and scale the core infrastructure that powers our products. In this role, you’ll partner closely with cross‑functional teams, build and improve CI/CD pipelines, and drive the DevOps practices that enable fast, reliable software delivery. This is a hands‑on engineering role where you’ll influence standards, mentor others, and help create the tools, automation, and environments that empower teams across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and automation to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable delivery of software into production.
- Driving DevOps culture and best practices, including IaC, shift‑left testing, and self‑service tooling for engineering teams.
- Supporting and mentoring teams, providing documentation and guidance to help them get the best out of our platform and tooling.
- Managing and maintaining platform environments, ensuring performance, availability, compliance with our Quality Management System, and participating in the on‑call rotation when needed.
Success at this role
- You bring 5–8 years of experience in building and operating AWS (VPC, IAM, EC2/EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3, CloudWatch), delivering secure, scalable, highly available systems and guiding teams on cloud best practices.
- You deliver production‑grade IaC with Terraform (modules, workspaces, policy checks), creating consistent, repeatable multi‑environment setups and reducing manual effort.
- You have solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, applying containerisation and orchestration concepts to design scalable, reliable deployment patterns and support modern cloud‑native infrastructure.
- You have built and maintained robust pipelines with Git and Jenkins (or GitHub Actions/GitLab CI), enabling fast, safe releases.
- Writing clean automation in Bash, Python, or Java that removes toil, streamlines workflows, and boosts developer productivity.
- You have 5+ years of Linux administration (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux/RHEL), improving performance and reliability through tuning and automation.
Additional qualifications (optional)
- Exposure to AWS Cost Optimisation & FinOps practices — e.g., analysing cloud spend, rightsizing workloads, using Savings Plans/Reserved Instances, and improving cost efficiency across environments.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, enabling better support for platform services and application teams.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Opensearch, Splunk), helping drive better reliability and insights into system performance.
- Relevant AWS certifications like DevOps Engineer – Professional, demonstrating deep expertise in CI/CD, automation, reliability, and cloud operations.
