We are seeking a talented individual to join our Client Services Support team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Witham. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Pro Rata Technician, you will support our client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries through timely and accurate system entry. Whether you have a curiosity for Reinsurance or you are looking for a change in career, this is the ideal place to learn new skills and an opportunity for you to progress. We have a number of opportunities on a permanent basis. Although Reinsurance experience would be advantageous, we are considering candidates with proven Insurance premium/claims or underwriting backgrounds who can demonstrate a desire to embark on a career in Reinsurance.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to client accounts.
  • Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds.
  • Manage all Pro Rata post, brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, ad hoc reporting requests, and all transactional process steps. This is inclusive of renewals.
  • Promote, build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets.
  • Participate in training sessions and provide input within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to assist with troubleshooting.

What you need to have:

  • Insurance/Reinsurance Premium/Claims experience, e.g. handling cash loss/large loss and a desire to move into the Reinsurance sector.
  • Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of technical account structure.
  • Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations.

  • Reinsurance Claims experience.
  • Experience within Pro Rata.
  • Experience of working in a technical capacity for a Broker.
  • Experience of using London Market systems such as LORS and the IMR (Insurance Market Repository).
  • Knowledge of CLASS system is useful for review of London market queries.
  • Knowledge of Letters of Credit and the Citibank process.
