Job Description

Ultra CEMS are looking for a Repairs Technician to join the Production Team. Working within a Production area and reporting to a Repairs Manager. The Repairs Technician will be required to carry out production tasks associated with the manufacturing process. Ensuring that the product is manufactured in the most cost-effective way and to the required quality standards whilst maintaining customer delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Booking Customer PO’s onto our system and creating shop floor packets (work instructions).
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, soldering/desoldering equipment.
  • Always Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety procedures.
  • Perform component-level repairs (e.g., replacing resistors, capacitors, ICs & connectors).
  • Mechanical assembly.
  • Conventional PCB assembly.
  • Surface mount hand fit assembly.
  • Wiring and/or cable assembly.
  • PCB cleaning (manual & automated).
  • Maintain accurate repair records and parts usage documentation.
  • Order parts for our system.
  • Component preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Self-inspection.
  • Packing product.
  • Shipping completed PO’s off our system and creating C of C’s.

You will be reworking product in accordance with Customer drawings/Customer PO’s, with the aid of Production process notes as an aid to manufacturing and completing Repairs documentation with required information as instructed and as per quality standards. Ensure workstations are clean and organized according to FOD and 6s procedures. Monitor and comply with Company Procedures, including ESD and Health and Safety practices. From time to time, you may be requested to carry out other tasks. These tasks will be within your certified capabilities or carried out with training or supervision.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Good attention to detail and dexterity skills.
  • Ability to follow Customer request with the aid of Customer drawings/process notes accurately.

Desirable:

  • Has electronics experience.
  • Experience of working in an ESD controlled environment.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
