We're looking for an exceptional medical leader to take the helm of our Oncology portfolio, where Medical Affairs is viewed as the strategic engine of meaningful change. The role is as a key member of the Medical Leadership Team, shaping therapeutic area strategy and influencing business priorities across the full asset life‑cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Medical Advisors and field medical professionals.
  • Own the oncology medical strategy for in‑line assets and an evolving pipeline, with a focus on early engagement and pre‑launch excellence.
  • Define and implement evidence generation strategy, including real‑world evidence and digital approaches, to support HTA and regulatory submissions.
  • Engage proactively with NHS England, NICE, system transformation and oncology policy to shape the external environment and advocate for patients.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, academic centres and healthcare system leaders to create solutions that improve patient pathways.
  • Act as a bridge between Medical, Commercial, Market Access and the broader matrix, ensuring integrated strategies are built on scientific credibility and delivered with commercial clarity.
  • Contribute to departmental direction, develop future‑ready capabilities and demonstrate the full strategic value that Medical can bring to the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Medical professional (physician or UK registered pharmacist) with an advanced scientific degree and substantial Medical Affairs experience in Oncology or a closely related area.
  • Experience in a large market with a deep understanding of the full product life‑cycle, including HTA, pre‑launch planning and evidence generation.
  • Held final signatory responsibility and strong working knowledge of the ABPI Code.
  • Strategic vision and proven ability to lead enterprise‑level initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills, with a talent to coach and develop teams.
  • Ability to thrive in complexity, translating scientific nuance into actionable strategy.
