What you need to know about this position: You will lead the development and implementation of Mondelēz International’s climate and environmental agenda across Europe (MEU), with a dedicated focus on carbon, water & waste reduction, and energy efficiency. You will translate global sustainability commitments into actionable regional roadmaps, coordinate cross‑functional delivery, and drive measurable progress against our environmental targets. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of environmental ambition and operational reality — working hand‑in‑hand with R&D, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain teams to make decarbonisation happen on the ground.
Climate & Carbon Strategy
- Own the MEU carbon‑reduction roadmap, translating MDLZ Science‑Based Targets (SBTi) into regional action plans across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
- Identify and prioritise decarbonisation levers across the E2E supply chain (scope 1‑2‑3).
- Partner closely with the Global Impact Team & MEU organisation to identify, fund, and scale initiatives.
- Track, report, and communicate MEU progress against carbon KPIs.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the central point of contact for climate and environment topics across MEU, connecting corporate sustainability, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, finance, and corporate & government affairs.
- Be the go‑to sustainability partner for plant directors, supply chain leads, and logistics managers — embedding climate thinking into operational planning and investment decisions.
- Coordinate with BU_CU teams to ensure local execution aligns with the regional climate strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, industry coalitions, consultants, and governmental bodies.
- Identify external funding opportunities (grants, subsidies, green finance).
- Support commercial teams where relevant on climate‑related sustainability communications.

- Champion the climate agenda as part of Snacking Made Right, embedding environmental ambition into everyday decision‑making across operations.
- Drive engagement and capability‑building across MEU on climate and environmental topics.
