This position resides at the LHR location in United Kingdom. It is a full-time position. We are looking for motivated individuals to provide technical engineering for obtaining aviation regulatory approvals of our products on commercial aircraft. This requires leadership to manage the Design Organization Approval (DOA) granted by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA). Strong regulatory background is required to work with UK‑CAA and understand regulatory requirements for obtaining approval of our Teledyne products on commercial aircraft. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in certifying avionics appliances and systems. The candidate will act as a technical certification interface, both internally and externally for the projects supported. The successful candidate will be a leader with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with external airline customers, UK‑CAA, quality, and other engineering disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the DOA
  • Maintain the approval status of the UK DOA Handbook
  • Support UK CAA yearly audits related to the UK‑CAA DOA
  • Generate applications to be submitted to UK‑CAA for obtaining STCs of Teledyne products
  • Work with US based certification department to help with FAA STCs
  • Maintain knowledge and training of latest aviation regulations
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of Teledyne products to allow design and STCs
  • Support First of Type (FOT) installations at domestic and international customer locations

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or five-to-six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Adobe Acrobat; AutoCAD is required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position of 37 hours per week in the UK location. This position may at times require long hours and weekend or holiday work reflecting workload and deadlines. Must maintain regular and punctual attendance. A willingness and availability to work overtime is required on an as-needed basis.

Travel

This position requires 10% domestic and international travel.
