Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction. Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
What You Will Do
As a Junior Automation/Site Reliability Engineer, you will help automate day-to-day operations, customer onboarding/setup, and BAU activities for our managed file transfer (MFT) services and other core services. You will build scripts, pipelines and configuration-as-code under guidance from senior engineers, improve observability and reliability, and contribute to well-documented, repeatable processes.
How you’ll contribute:
- Build and maintain automation for operations and customer setup using scripting and configuration-as-code (e.g., Bash, Python, Golang, Powershell).
- Contribute to configuration management and infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) for service deployments and runbooks.
- Create and maintain runbooks and documentation for repeatable BAU activities and onboarding workflows.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting (Grafana/OTEL/Prometheus) to improve reliability and reduce manual toil.
- Collaborate with SRE/DevOps engineers and service teams to deliver small, incremental improvements.
- Follow security and compliance practices, including certificate handling and secrets management.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews; propose automation to prevent recurrence.
- After ramp-up, participate in an on-call rotation with guidance and support.

Demonstrate a strong service mindset and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. Meet commitments and SLAs by using automation to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. Replace manual, error-prone onboarding steps with automated workflows and templates.
What will make you successful:
- Foundational system administration on Linux and/or Windows Server.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible/Puppet).
- Scripting ability in at least one language (Bash, Python, Golang, Powershell).
- Basic CI/CD concepts and tools in production environments.
- Understanding of observability fundamentals (metrics, logs, traces) and relevant tools (Grafana/OTEL).
- Basic networking and platform concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, certificates, virtualization, containers).
- Version control with Git and GitOps-friendly workflows.
- Clear written/verbal communication, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
- A collaborative and innovative work environment.
