Position Summary: Is responsible for leading the work‑related development of the new manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop concepts that include specification of equipment and make recommendations for the technical selection of purchased equipment.
  • Employ lean manufacturing principles to optimise effectiveness of our manufacturing operations to assure competitive pricing.
  • Technical lead for the new equipment proposals.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop standards to improve Statement of Requirements (SORs).
  • Develop and standardise documentation from concept to production.
  • Work with the cross functional teams.
  • Prepare and update equipment SORs and technical comparisons.
  • Maintain list of equipment suppliers with Purchasing Department.
  • Identify new suppliers and verify capabilities.
  • Summarise equipment and installation costs for quoting new business.
  • Standardise components to minimise spare parts inventory costs.
  • Lead the CAPEX based on purchasing of equipment and facilitate timing and budget.
  • Lead major projects installations for other functions such as maintenance.
  • Lead Machine FMEA and PFMEA for major equipment.
  • Apply AQPQ Product Methodology.
  • Apply DFMA Skills Creating Full Product Process Implementing Automation.
  • Create Cycle grams & Utilisation charts per process.
  • Cost Analysis & Budget control.
  • Employ Lean Manufacturing Methods.
  • Utilise work methods and instructions through standardised work.
  • Support equipment layout to optimise product flow and minimise unnecessary movement through VSM.
  • Utilise Lean Manufacturing methods and efficient product flow and apply Six sigma.
  • Develop pre‑production packaging solutions for WIP and Finished Goods.
  • Project Manage equipment suppliers, build, installation and acceptance.
  • Lead equipment project timelines.
  • Manage on time delivery, within budget.
  • Lead the equipment drawing review and approval process with supplier.
  • Review equipment drawings with SMEs and approve/reject based on review.
  • Provide timely review and feedback to supplier.
  • Support and document equipment run‑off at suppliers prior to shipment.
  • Support and document equipment run‑off on‑site at CCUK Final Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Taking Over Certificate.
  • Comfortable managing change.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Knows and understands process documentation and customer specific requirements as they related to the program and/or equipment.
  • Prepare and present material for program review meetings.
  • Lead and coordinate with Department Leaders in preparation of RFQs and proposals, statement of work and specifications and execution of contract requirements.
  • Uphold the company Fair Enterprise and Employee Charter principles.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge and Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred with an Engineering focus. Familiar with the equipment tendering process. Proven experience in leading the FMEA process for the manufacturing process along with major equipment purchases. In‑depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and how to apply them in practice. Project Management qualifications is advantageous.
  • Work Experience: Experience in the die casting, injection moulding or stamping field within the automotive manufacturing industry. Project management experience. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Strong understanding of business finance and metrics. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced working environment. Fundamental computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project). Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Well organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations. Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact. Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Honest with a high level of integrity. Full driving licence. Eligibility to work in the UK.

Primarily manufacturing plant shop floor and office. Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions. Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as needed including weekend as needed by the projects. Requires regular travel to customer and suppliers as required (UK, Europe and internationally).
