Hours: 40 hours/week – 4x 10 hour days; shifts between 8am and 6pm. 1 in 8 weekends with days off the following week.

Eastcott Referrals are seeking an RVN to join our friendly, close knit and well-established veterinary referral hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire.

About the Role

This is a full-time role. The working hours are: Monday to Friday: 4 x 10 hour days – shifts between 8am and 8pm. 1:8 weekends with days off the following week.

About You

  • An RVN with at least 1 year post qualification experience
  • Previous surgery specific experience
  • Team spirited and passionate about quality care
  • Previous experience of working within a busy referral setting desired but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.

You will be working alongside a wonderful team including a very supportive theatre technician team, and you’ll be fully supported by the whole nursing team.

About the Practice

Eastcott is an innovative tier 3 multidisciplinary referral and primary care hospital located just off the M4 in Swindon, Wiltshire. We are a cat-friendly practice and are passionate about providing exceptional patient care. We see cases from a variety of disciplines, including cardiology, orthopaedics, soft tissue, medicine, neurology, dentistry, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, ECC and primary care. The surgery team consists of 6 surgeon specialists, 6 nurses and supported by 3 surgery technicians covering both a soft tissue and an orthopaedic caseload.

Day-to-Day Duties

The role encompasses all nursing skills including:

  • A mix of general anaesthesia and sedations of advanced imaging and surgical procedures with a focus of scrubbing into and assisting in surgical cases and theatre organisation.
  • Clipping and prepping of patients.
  • Admits and discharges.
  • Maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
