Cloud Operations System Administrator

Location: Swansea, IL

Position Summary: Provide cloud operational engineering support for Tapestry’s Global Decision Support System (GDSS) program, the primary U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC) Command and Control (C2) system.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and operations of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure supporting the GDSS program
  • Oversee cloud operations including monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with DevOps to develop and implement automation solutions to streamline cloud operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools
  • Collaborate with development, security, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness of cloud applications
  • Manage routine patching and maintenance of infrastructure
  • Manage cloud resource provisioning, cost optimization, and capacity planning
  • Establish and enforce operational best practices, policies, and standards for cloud environments
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior cloud operations engineers
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to critical incidents to minimize downtime
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, operational procedures, and incident reports
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve cloud operations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Global Decision Support System (GDSS) operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • CompTIA Sec+ certification

Pay & Benefits

Competitive base pay ranging from $80,000 to $96,050 plus variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees can enroll in health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time‑off programs.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre‑Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start are required.
