Prysmian Street Lighting Department, which forms part of the Prysmian Cables & Systems Utilities Division, was formed in the early 1980’s carrying out Street Lighting Installation and Maintenance projects throughout the UK. Operating from our Midlands Depots in Stourport and Atcham, the Department is presently responsible for maintaining over 100,000 street lights and illuminated signs within the local area.
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Street Lighting team in the role of Street Lighting Operative.
Key responsibilities:- Carrying out the routine maintenance of illuminated street furniture and associated equipment on site and at heights.
- Installing new equipment and associated works in accordance with the current edition of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, Regulations for Electrical Installation (IEE Regulations) and or contract specifications.
- Working alone or as part of a team.
- Attending training sessions as required.
- Carrying out daily risk assessments at point of work.
- Ensuring that any unsafe or non-compliant machine, tool or working appliance is immobilized and reported to the Electrician/Contract Engineer.
- Complying with current statutory requirements regarding electrical engineering.
- Reporting Defects, Accidents, Incidents, Diseases, Dangerous Occurrences, Near Misses and other nonconformities to the Electrician/Contract Engineer.
- Driving and operating any allocated vehicle (full UK driving licence is essential).
- Carrying out routine checks and maintenance on the allocated vehicle as specified on the Vehicle Drivers Daily Defect Sheet.
- Maintaining all personal tools.
- Maintaining records as required.
- Carrying out such other duties as the Street Lighting Supervisor may determine.
