Join our Operations team as a Manufacturing Engineer at our Stonehouse site in Gloucestershire. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and improving manufacturing systems and processes. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing technologies and quality control methods to enhance productivity and efficiency within our production facilities. The team consists of 8 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you. This position is available for full-time on a permanent basis and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.10 – 16.10 or 7.55 – 16.55, Friday 7.10 – 12.10, 7.55 – 12.55.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Design layout for equipment and workspace to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production development, quality, supply chain and production to ensure seamless integration of new and existing processes.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies (ISO9001, ISO13485 and regulatory IVD requirements).
- Provide technical support and training to production staff and operators.
- Manage projects from concept through implementation and evaluation phases.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of processes, equipment specifications, and operational procedures.
What will convince us
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field or alternative education in engineering (e.g., apprenticeship).
- Ideally experience of working in a regulated manufacturing sector (medical device, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive, cleanroom).
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering or related role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
- Ideally proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
