As an HR Onboarding Governance Adviser, you will play a vital role in our HR Colleague Services & Governance Department, and be responsible for ensuring new colleagues are onboarded in a timely and compliant manner across EMEA regions. You will work closely with our wider HR and Resourcing team, as well as our screening partner, to deliver excellent candidate outcomes.

Day to Day activities of this role include:

  • Guiding candidates through their onboarding journey, from offer stage to first day in the business, ensuring clear and positive communication reflecting M&G values.
  • Preparing and issuing contracts, offer letters and onboarding documents to new joiners and existing colleagues.
  • Ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance by managing pre‑employment screening within agreed timescales & risk appetite.
  • Maintaining knowledge of new trends/legislation.
  • Working collaboratively with Resourcing, Reward, HRBP’s and various teams across the wider HR function and business to ensure all processes & escalations are followed in line with our risk framework.
  • Staying up to date with innovative and creative ways of onboarding new employees.
  • Assisting with internal operational risk reporting and governance.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Working experience in onboarding, recruitment or a similar role.
  • Experience of Workday or other HR systems.
  • CIPD/HR qualification (desirable).
  • Understanding of the recruitment life cycle.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Great understanding of HR practices and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and active listening.
  • A proactive team player with ability to work independently and remotely when needed.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Strong analytical, time management and decision‑making skills.
