As a Static Commissioning Engineer, you will be technically responsible for the preparation of Pre-commissioning specification and execution of the Pre-commissioning activity at site. The role will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. You will be part of the Static Commissioning team and will be responsible for control system installation at project site, off load testing & after sales operation support of an HVDC control system as part of a project delivery team.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of control system installation at site.
  • Lead the field cable laying & termination as per approved documents.
  • Lead the configuration, testing and troubleshooting of complex IEC61850 IED system.
  • Configuration of HMI (Human machine interface), TFR (Transient fault recorder) & other sub systems.
  • Lead the cubicle standalone, inter cubicle and field interface test as per approved documents.
  • Testing of substation hardware and software interlocks CT and PT/CVT/voltage divider primary and secondary analogue injection test.
  • Handover the HVDC control system team to the Dynamic commissioning team.
  • As built documentation markup.
  • Manage the record of spares & defective equipment.
  • Accurate reporting and record keeping on Progress and Issues.
  • Follow the departmental standard installation/testing practices and guidelines.
  • After sales operation support.
  • Support work in RTDS lab for projects.

Qualifications / Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of Control and Protection, protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear.
  • Knowledge of Substation Automation.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profibus and Ethernet based protocols.
  • Knowledge of high voltage power electronics applications e.g. HVDC or Industrial rectifier.
  • Must be able and willing to work both in Office and on sites worldwide for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills with a fluency in English language.
