Position Overview: The Commercial Gas Heating Test Technician is responsible for providing the highest standards of maintenance in the most efficient manner to maintain, adjust, set up and test products before re‑hiring or installation. The primary focus of the role is the preparation of hire, heating, burners and boiler equipment and ancillaries. The goal is to maximize productivity and enhance the overall customer experience and improve operational technical processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to diagnose system problems when servicing products and testing equipment.
- Collaboration with hire and service desks, Sales, and Operations Team: Establish strong communication channels to share key customer insights.
- Able to use cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand‑tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
- Modifications for specific customer requirements.
- Communications with supervisors, regions hire and operations managers and senior technicians, and customers on updates and to drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration:
- Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
- Effective communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry an advantage.
- People and communication skills with a positive mindset.
- Appropriate skilled based certificates with F‑Gas and Commercial Gas Safe CCN1.
- Able to cover depot standby and call outs on a planned scheduled basis to include weekday, weekends and bank holidays when required.
- Forklift driving an advantage.
- UK Drivers licence as a company vehicle will be allocated.
- Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.
