Alta’s cloud‑based video security solution offers industry‑leading full AI video analytics and exceptional operational insights. The Alta Video engineering team injects intelligence into their approach to security and all their solutions. They help organisations see, understand, and act on their surroundings to protect people, business, and reputation in real‑time. We have a fantastic city centre office in the heart of Edinburgh and fully embrace a hybrid home/office working model, with an aim for 2 days in the office.

What this role involves:

  • Leading and building high‑performing teams of software developers from graduate to senior level.
  • Coaching, mentoring and encouraging career development.
  • Working with the teams to promote engineering best practices.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Working closely with the product team to champion the balance between short and long‑term objectives.
  • Collaborating with the wider organisation to achieve our strategic objectives.

Basic Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience leading people and software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to optimise engineering processes and team performance.
  • Track record of teams delivering on time.
  • A natural ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Drive for continual learning.
  • Exposure to Scrum or other Agile frameworks.
  • Knowledge of modern software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Cloud and/or DevOps experience on a product with a large customer base and global reach.
  • Passionate about CI/CD and release trains, delivering a regular cadence of features and quality improvements.
  • Mastery in any programming language (C++, Go, TypeScript, …).
  • Lead by example, exceed expectations and go above and beyond.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
