What you will be doing:
Qualified Site Service Shift Engineer – UK team based at Manchester Airport. Reporting to the Field Services Area Manager, you will support on‑site installation, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of airport security systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) services on various types of security search equipment.
- Provide support to customers by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing X‑ray and CT‑based security systems.
- Prepare and conduct formal and informal training courses for customer personnel in operation and maintenance of systems and equipment, including on‑site technical and operator training.
- Work with customers via phone or in person to identify operations/technical problems; respond to customer complaints and questions until resolved.
- Diagnose system/equipment interface problems during installations.
- Acquaint customer personnel with equipment capabilities, advise on changes and authorized modifications.
- Use Salesforce or similar CRM software and complete admin requirements to deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of a technical school or equivalent military training in electronics engineering technology (highly desirable).
- Strong experience working within a site or field‑service environment in a directly applicable industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of X‑ray and CT technologies and the company’s products.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of complex digital and analog circuitry; Linux a plus.
- Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM, oscilloscope) and experience with high‑voltage and X‑ray producing equipment preferred.
- Team player capable of prioritizing and working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversight; able to perform multiple activities simultaneously and independently; may be required to lift heavy weights.
- Previous experience in one or more of the following: security and detection systems, aviation, operating in a global environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to produce a high standard of work at all times and become a member of a small but successful team. Based in Stansted, UK, in commuting distance. To be considered for this role, you must be a UK or EU national, eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom. Relocation is not available.
