The Role

You are a Foundation “direction setter” for endpoint migration and endpoint target‑state standards. You will define the policies, tooling approach, technical guardrails and runbooks that Scale squads and the Factory must follow for tenant‑to‑tenant endpoint transition (Windows, Intune, Autopilot, join state, compliance posture). You are accountable for turning early discovery and pilot learnings into hardened, repeatable patterns suitable for industrial execution at enterprise scale. This role is explicitly for a migration specialist, admin‑only profiles are not suitable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define endpoint target‑state standards and guardrails for the consolidated tenant (baseline configuration, compliance posture, app strategy).
  • Produce and govern endpoint runbooks, quality gates and validation checklists for scaled execution.
  • Define exception patterns for complex device populations and high‑risk business groups.
  • Lead endpoint pilot design/support and translate lessons learned into hardened standards.
  • Coordinate cross‑discipline dependencies (Identity, Security, Conditional Access, Shared Data and user readiness).
  • Define operational telemetry/KPIs for device migrations and sign‑off evidence requirements.
  • Provide escalation guidance to Scale/Factory leads for complex endpoint migration failures.
  • Ensure security and access impacts are understood and controlled throughout migration waves.
  • Support cutover readiness reviews and go/no‑go evidence for endpoint components.

Who You Are

  • Delivered tenant‑to‑tenant endpoint migration work in production (Intune/Windows specialism is mandatory).
  • Deep practical Intune expertise (enrolment, compliance, configuration profiles, reporting and troubleshooting).
  • Practical understanding of Autopilot concepts and tenant transition sequencing.
  • Strong PowerShell and operational troubleshooting capability.
  • Proven ability to write/run/run‑govern runbooks and quality gates for repeatable delivery.
  • Willingness to support early/late calls and cutover windows as needed for a global programme.
  • Strong documentation discipline: creates reusable patterns, not tribal knowledge.
  • Experience with workstation/profile migration tools (e.g., PowerSyncPro or equivalent) and understanding of operational constraints.
  • Experience with Microsoft security controls affecting devices (Conditional Access, compliant device requirements).
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 transition programmes alongside tenant migration.

Interpersonal & Consulting Skills

  • Confident direction setter: explains “why” behind standards and secures adoption.
  • Calm escalation partner during pilot/cutovers.
  • Strong collaborator across Identity/Security and adoption stakeholders.
  • Evidence‑based decision‑making; avoids assumptions and undocumented exceptions.
  • Coaches teams through patterns and enables repeatable success.
  • High attention to quality and risk control while maintaining delivery pace.

Typical Deliverables / KPIs

  • Endpoint migration standards pack (target state, policies, runbooks, validation).
  • Pilot success rate and reduction of repeat failures post‑pilot.
  • Adoption of standards (exception volume trending down over time).
  • Cutover readiness pass rate for endpoint components.
  • Reduced MTTR for endpoint migration incidents due to improved runbooks.

Shift / Working Pattern Notes

Primary UK business hours, with expected out‑of‑hours support during cut‑overs and cross‑region coordination windows (early/late calls; occasional weekends in peak migration periods).
