CDW’s Solution Sales organisation collaborates with sales to deliver high value outcomes and experiences to existing and prospective customers across various technology growth pillars including Hybrid Platforms, Modern Workspace, Security and Digital Enablement. The role of the Senior Solution Architect focuses on the following core areas:

  • Driven overlay resource supporting the delivery of successful financial metrics through technical and services engagements with customers.
  • Solution owner supporting the creation and execution of customer requirements based on desired business outcomes.
  • Creation of documentation based on technical design that meets customer business needs, targets, and KPIs.

The primary purpose of the Senior Solution Architect is to lead business outcome engagements from start to finish on opportunities from proactive sales engagement with aligned account owners. They translate customer business outcome requirements into high-level technical design and sales outcomes, leveraging vendor expertise and CDW’s service portfolio to support bids, promote aligned solutions, and contribute to proposal creation and customer presentations.

Senior Solution Architects also support other departments, including Sales, by campaigning into accounts to win future projects and sharing customer insights from project engagements.

Proposal Creation

  • Support the creation of proposals while working with aligned members of the Solution Sales team.
  • Produce exemplary standard technical high-level design documents in line with customer requirements.

Services Promote

  • Promote relevant CDW services in line with technical design and align internal support as needed.
  • Provide accurate PS costings following internal processes.

Commercials

  • Architecture driven pricing and sizing to ensure opportunities meet commercial elements.
  • Strategic approach considering relevant options and potential commercial risks.

What we expect of you

  • Demonstrable knowledge in hybrid cloud solutions from leading vendors.
  • Expertise in Compute Solutions including CI, HCI, and servers powered by VMware, Nutanix, and Red Hat.
  • Knowledge of a structured sales process and understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales and delivery teams.
  • Maintains role-aligned certifications and actively pursues ongoing learning.

Required experience:

  • Minimum of four years in a technical consulting, solution architecture, or pre-sales engineering role.
  • Experience in building positive working relationships with customers.
  • Familiarity with relevant vendor platforms and tools.
  • Demonstrable experience of being business outcome lead during customer engagements.
  • Track record of maintaining relevant technical certifications.
