We are a small development team within DRW supporting multiple web-based GUIs used by traders and IT across the globe. Our code is primarily written in TypeScript, utilizing Node, NestJS, and Docker for back-end microservices; React powers the front-end. We’re seeking a Senior JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer to join our team as we scale to more users within the company. The position offers the opportunity to work on both front-end and back-end code, tight feedback with users, and opportunity to influence the design and architecture of a growing system.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background
- Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript or other object-oriented programming
- Experience in performance tuning data-intensive systems
- Comfortable with ownership of a significantly large and complex codebase
Desirable skills
- Experience with refactoring existing software to provide performance or architectural improvements while preserving current functionality
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with writing integration tests
- Experience optimizing distributed systems
- Open-source contributions or side projects
- Experience or interest in finance
- Experience with Node.js
- Experience or interest with WebAssembly and/or Rust
This position can be based out of our London or Chicago office.
