Team / division overview: The Passive Portfolio Management Team at DWS manages the full range of X‑trackers across Equity and Fixed Income Exchange Traded Funds, as well as Segregated mandates, covering a wide range or index providers and array of benchmark types from multiple ESG flavours to Thematics. DWS has a global and integrated investment platform with a strong footprint globally. With presence on the ground in 17 locations, we cover the most important financial markets in the world. Our investment platform employs approximately 900 investment professionals (excluding product specialists), covering both the most important financial markets and regions, and the most important asset classes. You will play a key role as Portfolio Engineer within the team.

Role Details: As a Senior Equity Portfolio Manager you will:

  • Carry out daily management of the index equity portfolios via portfolio construction and trade implementation.
  • Support the management of client flows efficiently.
  • Manage investment and risk exposures, while determining optimal hedging strategies where applicable.
  • Determine optimal portfolio strategy to minimize tracking error to index, to ensure trading accuracy across corporate actions and cash flows.
  • Work on projects geared towards creating efficiency and bringing scale/automation for the overall development of platform.
  • Work closely with trading desks to determine optimal execution strategies.
  • Contribute to new and existing product development processes.
  • Oversee the Net Asset Value, Portfolio Composition File reconciliations and performance attribution analysis.

We are looking for:

  • Strong financial product knowledge across either Equities, Fixed Income or Commodities with exposure to Index, Synthetic, Delta‑one or Derivative instruments.
  • Sound experience from either a Portfolio Management, Trading, Index Research background, with knowledge around portfolio construction, performance & attribution, and related ETF servicing.
  • Knowledge of index methodologies from key providers including FTSE, S&P, MSCI etc.
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills including such as Python, VBA and Excel are highly beneficial.
  • An understanding of rebalance trading strategies.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications and capability using Bloomberg, Reuters, Factset, Aladdin and optimisation systems like Barra BPM, Bloomberg Portfolio Management.
  • Experience with option strategies and structured products would be highly beneficial.
  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience.

DWS’ Hybrid Working model in the UK is designed to find the right balance between in‑person collaboration and engagement in the office, which is core to our working culture, and working from home.
