About The Role
In Business Transformation at FTI Consulting, we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of performance, financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. Our services include strategic and business planning, profitability improvement, merger, integration and carve‑out and pre‑deal commercial and operational due diligence, including interim management. Our demanding customer base relies on small, experienced senior teams. Business Transformation sits with the FTI Corporate Finance practice and works alongside colleagues in the Restructuring, Transactions Services, Tax and Digital Science teams, providing a holistic offer for our clients and a rewarding experience for our staff. Senior Directors are key client facing members of project teams responsible for delivering high quality reports, recommendations and analyses. You will work alongside, and lead, other consultants, owning workstreams within the overall project, under the guidance of the senior team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage project teams, working with clients on the execution of various engagements.
- Support clients facing crisis and transformation situations, including but not limited to the following areas:
- Lead for developing recommendations based on high quality and insightful financial and operational reviews and modelling.
- Tracking and analysing market trends and company financials for new insights.
- Identifying how to improve operational performance and create upside potential in complex situations.
- Identifying risks, potential downsides and mitigating actions.
- Building pragmatic and implementable strategies and business plans, underpinned by solid analyses.
- Driving client implementation including programme management and issue resolution across multiple initiatives in multiple functions.
- Writing reports for senior audiences and presenting our work to C‑suite clients.
- Developing, coaching and mentoring junior consultants.

What You Will Need to Succeed
- Extensive experience at a major consulting firm serving financial services clients.
- Proven experience leading consulting teams on complex engagements for financial services clients, including managing timelines, coaching junior team members, coordinating internal experts, ensuring quality of analysis and deliverables, and developing trusted client relationships.
- Comprehensive knowledge in areas such as rapid performance improvement, strategic plan review/development, due diligence, and implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and strong knowledge of financial analysis.
- Ability and willingness to develop new client relationships and support new business opportunities; self‑starter mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presentations, memos).
- Team‑oriented and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and ability to manage through influence.
- Ability and curiosity to learn and adapt in an ever‑changing environment to meet client needs.
- Team player and leader, open‑minded, with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Willingness and ability to travel to clients and FTI offices both nationally and internationally.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience at a financial services institution and/or in private equity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional qualifications such as CFA or MBA.
- International exposure and experience.
