As we grow our legal team, we are looking for a senior corporate solicitor (8 years + PQE) with a commercial and pragmatic approach who thrives on supporting a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. You will play a key role in negotiating complex supplier, partner, and customer contracts, advising on strategic initiatives, and managing legal risks. Working in partnership with our high performing sales teams and providing support and leadership to junior team members, your role is pivotal to enabling business growth and innovation.

What you will do:

  • Lead the negotiation of global agreements with customers, partners, and suppliers, working closely with US and Canadian legal teams.
  • Ensure contracts are practical, commercially sound, and aligned with CDW’s risk tolerance.
  • Manage 2 colleagues.
  • Go beyond a standard legal playbook—evaluate contracts in context, assess risk realistically, and provide clear, business-focused advice.
  • Balance legal considerations with commercial objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships across business units to understand priorities, add value, and provide practical solutions.
  • Provide legal guidance on procurement tendering, particularly large-scale public sector contracts, including advice on the Procurement Act 2023 and IT public sector frameworks.
  • Support the evolution of CDW’s offerings by streamlining deals, reducing friction, and enabling sustainable growth.
  • Advise on acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions.
  • Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments, advising on compliance areas including data protection, competition, anti-corruption, trade, national security, and digital ethics.
  • Provide input on litigation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and risk management strategies where needed.
  • Help create scalable, multi-jurisdictional processes for customer and supplier transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through automation and AI.
  • Support and guide junior legal team members, helping them develop their commercial acumen and ability to simplify legal concepts for the business.

What we expect of you:

  • Significant experience in corporate and commercial transactions, within a dynamic B2B sales environment - technology sales/IT reseller preferred.
  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with around 8–10 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills, with the ability to work on supplier, partner, and customer contracts that aren’t always on our terms.
  • Ability to assess risk pragmatically, focusing on what really matters to CDW rather than rigidly applying a standard legal playbook.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders while maintaining a solutions-driven approach.
  • Autonomy and initiative, with a proactive mindset and the ability to navigate priorities in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
  • Experience in public sector procurement and TUPE transactions.
  • Understanding of data protection principles, though deep specialist knowledge isn’t required.

Preferred skills, experience, and qualities needed:

  • Experience in IP, litigation, or ADR.
  • Familiarity with AI and legal tech tools.
  • International legal experience, particularly in emerging markets.
  • Previous experience in the IT reseller industry or working in a multinational company.
