The Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Associate to join our Employment team in London, with substantial experience of complex transactional employment work, particularly involving US‑headquartered clients and cross‑border US/UK and international matters. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising on employment aspects of high‑value, often fast‑paced corporate transactions, working closely with our corporate, private equity, real estate and regulatory teams, as well as US and other international counsel. They will also have the opportunity to work on complex, high value and sensitive contentious matters, including alongside our litigation and white collar crime teams, as well as a range of advisory matters, often with a cross-border element.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Manage a varied caseload of contentious, advisory and transactional matters.
  • Lead on the employment law aspects of complex domestic and cross‑border corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity investments, restructurings and group reorganisations.
  • Advise clients (mostly employers, as well as some senior executives) on contentious matters, often involving cross-border elements.
  • Work alongside our Regulatory colleagues on matters where there is a regulatory / employment law crossover.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing pragmatic and strategic advice.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and thought leadership within the team.
  • Effectively manage all client work allocated to them, ensuring that it is progressed in a timely fashion.
  • Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills to meet the demands of clients, external stakeholders and the business.
  • Supervise and assist in the professional development of more junior team members.
  • Keep up to date with current legislation and changes within area of expertise.

Qualifications: Admitted to practice as a solicitor or barrister either in England and Wales or qualified overseas with experience in the London market. 5-7 PQE Undergraduate degree achieving a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent.
