As a Sales Specialist sitting within Data & Analytics, you will be positioning and presenting our desktop solutions (including our new platform called Workspace) into the trading & banking area (including investment, corporate, regional banks and financial institutions, IDBs, non-financial corporates, traditional asset managers, asset owners, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, etc.). This is a flexible, tailored front-to-back solution that aggregates industry data, delivers proprietary analytics and automates critical trading and banking workflows. It has been built to harness the shifting trends in trading, as firms want to quickly embrace effective AI driven tools and coding into their workflows.

What will you be doing

  • As a subject matter expert, you will act in support of Account Managers as a Sales Specialist focusing on all sales (new, cross-sells, up-sells).
  • You will lead on deal negotiations and serve accounts within UK & Ireland.
  • The role works in close partnership with internal collaborators to proactively drive gross sales and revenue.
  • Take opportunities from identification to close, including the management of all contractual, legal, and technical requirements.
  • Understand the value propositions, competitive landscape, and key selling points of our solutions.
  • Upbeat and proactive approach towards learning, pipeline generation and sales execution.
  • Demonstrate a mentality which is aligned with Customers’ short and long-term strategic aims.
  • Developing direct high level customer relationships (especially C-level) with decision makers and influencers with Customers and 3rd parties.
  • Be able to demonstrate the services and position the strengths of our products.
  • Plan and prioritize sales efforts to ensure that potential future leads are followed up at the appropriate time.
  • Build and maintain pipeline of recurring opportunities and update information on items within our Sales Force.com tool, keeping orders and forecast current and accurate.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the activities, propositions and threats posed by our competitors in this space.
  • Work closely with the business divisions to provide meaningful customer feedback and engagement opportunities.
  • Provide regular and structured feedback on all activity and customer issues to Head of Sales for Trading Solutions.

Who are we looking for

  • Customer Centric Focus - Commercial/Customer Service Experience from within the financial markets.
  • Experience in a sales / account management opportunity within the financial markets, with a demonstrable understanding of the sell-side and trends affecting the industry.
  • Proven track record to identify and develop relevant key customer relationships.
  • Excellent consultative sales skills and validated techniques for negotiating complex agreements.
  • Thoughtful communication skills and the ability to perform in a high-visibility and pressured environment to win high-impact change programs with multiple touch points within the customer environment.
  • Demonstrate collaborative style within a matrix hierarchy as well as proven thought leadership with external clients and strong teammate.
  • Determination, tenacity, self-motivation and willingness to put in the extra effort to succeed.
  • Knowledge of the broader market and how LSEG serves it.
