We are looking for an experienced QHSE Specialist to join our team in Edinburgh! The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Management Systems to enhance business value and ensure client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining compliance with ISO and other standards as part of Concept’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Identifying and minimizing risks related to accidents and incidents
- Collaborating with the wider team to develop business improvements
- Ensuring operational managers and personnel have the necessary technical competence to work safely
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking candidates with experience in the following areas:
- Proven experience in management system implementation and maintenance
- NEBOSH certificate or diploma in Health and Safety
- Strong knowledge of management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 9001
- Thorough understanding of HSE legislative requirements
- Ability to independently lead a function and achieve results through others
- Effective problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Excellent cross-functional communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, think clearly, and make sound judgments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and willing to accept responsibility
- Flexible and adaptable, with a positive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
It would be an advantage to have:
- Lead Auditor certification
- Membership in IOSH, CQI, or IEMA
- Experience in software development, offshore/field operations, or an engineering environment
- Knowledge of ESG initiatives and carbon footprint management & improvement
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 27001
- Experience selecting and applying quality tools to analyze and solve problems
- Experience working in a global business environment with diverse cultures
