Purpose of the role: To collaborate with product owners and other technical teams involved in the product development process and utilise their knowledge of the bank’s technologies to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap.
Accountabilities:
- Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
- Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
- Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
- Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.

For an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. Enterprise Technology will be replacing a complex, largely on-premise technology stack with a clean new SaaS landscape for Finance, Risk, HR and Functions. We require an exceptional Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for our new HR technology stack from definition through to build, ongoing run and continued enhancement. You will be using your significant experience of HR technologies to ensure we implement a modern, SaaS based HR technology stack and extract maximum value for our colleagues, including use of AI.
You will work closely with implementation partners and vendors to translate strategic priorities into a deliverable roadmap, ensuring alignment between product vision and programme execution.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Proven experience as a senior Product Owner and/or Manager, defining visions, roadmaps and prioritisation.
- Deep knowledge and experience across core HR Technology domains (e.g. system of record, recruitment, payroll, benefits, etc.) and their integration within a broader enterprise structure.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively across HR, Finance, and Technology teams including navigating governance and senior stakeholder forums at C-level.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Experience selecting and integrating with outsourced Payroll and Benefits providers.
- Experience with migrations or carve outs of HR technology from existing companies.
- Experience with HR technologies and processes in fintech organisations.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion integration for HR tools.

The successful candidate will be based in London. Our offices are located at 1 Churchill Place and 7 Westferry Circus (new BPL office). We support a hybrid working pattern with 3 days per week office-based presence expected.
Barclays’ payments acceptance business provides critical infrastructure to the UK economy, processing billions of pounds of payments annually for both small businesses and domestic and international corporate clients. In April 2025, we announced a long-term partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to grow and transform the payments acceptance business by broadening the range of services offered, enhancing the experience for both existing and prospective clients. Leveraging extensive client relationships and deep experience of UK payments, we will create an environment of continuous innovation - activated by Brookfield’s global private equity expertise in payments, technology, operational transformation and corporate carve-outs - to ensure the business is strategically positioned for long‑term growth.
Barclays will invest approximately £400m in the new business, the majority of which will be incurred during the first three years. Performance‑linked incentives will drive greater alignment between the partners, underpinning the long‑term commitment to the transformation. Barclays and Brookfield will work to create a standalone entity over time, continuing to use the Barclaycard Payments (BPL) brand and acting as the sole payments acceptance services provider to Barclays’ clients for a minimum of ten years.
