The Principal Consultant is a senior leader within the Professional Services consulting team, responsible for driving the design and implementation of the DealCloud platform for complex, enterprise-level clients. This role blends strategic client advisory with advanced solution architecture, data strategy, and platform configuration. Principal Consultants lead high-impact engagements, influence product evolution, and collaborate across teams to ensure delivery excellence. They also play a key role in elevating team capability through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and modelling best practices.
What you will do:
- Lead Strategic Enterprise Engagements — Serve as the engagement lead for enterprise clients, applying deep industry expertise to architect tailored solutions that align with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Solution Design & Implementation — Conduct advanced analysis of client operations and data ecosystems to design scalable platform configurations that address complex business challenges.
- Client Advisory & Relationship Management — Operate as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, guiding strategic conversations and ensuring alignment between platform capabilities and business objectives.
- Technical Documentation & Enablement — Collaborate with Technical Leads to produce clear, comprehensive design documentation that supports implementation and long-term platform success.
- Training & Client Empowerment — Deliver customised training sessions to client teams, enabling confident adoption and optimisation of configured solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with internal teams — including Support, Customer Success, and Product — to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement across the client lifecycle.
- Design Framework Leadership — Develop and apply scalable design frameworks that support consistency and excellence across diverse client engagements.
- Quality Assurance Oversight — Lead QA efforts to validate solution integrity, performance, and alignment with client expectations.
- Data Strategy & Migration Planning — Analyse legacy data sets to inform system architecture and ensure optimal data migration and usability.
- Escalation Management — Proactively manage and resolve client escalations, applying strategic thinking and platform expertise to mitigate risk and maintain trust.
- Pre-Sales & Scoping Support — Contribute to pre-sales activities by shaping solution scope, supporting order form development, and aligning proposed deliverables with client needs.
- Team Development & Knowledge Sharing — Collaborate with peers and junior team members to elevate delivery quality, share expertise, and reinforce best practices across engagements.
What you will need:
- 5+ years of experience in client-facing, project-based software implementation, with a track record of leading complex enterprise engagements.
- 3+ years’ experience working with or supporting law firm marketing tools such as DealCloud, InterAction, or Peppermint/Litera.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to build trust and deliver strategic value in high-stakes client environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SaaS platforms and data architecture.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills; adept at leading client workshops and internal collaboration.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Collaborative mindset with experience supporting team development and cross-functional initiatives.
