How You Will Create an Impact

  • Manage, assess, and underwrite business bound under Portfolio Solutions, ensuring all risks fall within approved underwriting authority levels and policy governance requirements.
  • Conduct detailed pre-bind Underwriting reviews, including exposure analysis to determine appetite fit, proposed Coverholder authority levels, underwriting guidelines, and adherence to Lloyd’s and internal AIG/Talbot standards.
  • Provide ongoing oversight of individual facility and class performance including bordereaux reviews, Audit reviews, referrals, premium, claims, opportunities.
  • Recommend adjustments, improvements, endorsements, or changes to underwriting authorities as part of continuous quality review processes.
  • Contribute to portfolio strategy and product development by identifying performance trends and emerging risks within delegated segments.
  • Support Business planning, with data-driven insights to help optimise the portfolio and improve profitability.
  • Work directly with brokers, coverholders, and internal stakeholders to maintain high service levels and support profitable and sustainable delegated arrangements.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience in underwriting within a Lloyd’s or company market environment, ideally underwriting Binding authorities and/or Portfolio Solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret risk level data, translate insights into underwriting decisions and make portfolio recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain high-quality underwriting files and documentation within the defined underwriting file structure.
  • Understanding of underwriting governance, risk appetite frameworks, and file quality expectations, consistent with AIG underwriting policy standards.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with underwriting, actuarial, operations, DA teams, finance and product leadership.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills for engaging brokers, coverholders, internal CUOs, and governance teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI or similar analytical tools.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to compliance with Lloyd’s, regulatory, and AIG/Talbot standards.
