A bit about the role

As part of a small, high-impact team, you will play a key role in delivering a business-critical regulatory objective, working closely with senior leaders, accountable executives and SMF24 stakeholders across the Business Unit. You will help design and implement both the business and operational resilience strategy, ensuring resilience is embedded holistically across Aviva Investors. Day-to-day, you will make primarily tactical decisions, including problem solving, providing oversight and input into activities delivered by Group Operational Resilience, and responding to incidents through effective ‘in the moment’ support and recovery actions. You will contribute across a broad range of operational resilience topics, supporting compliance throughout the lifecycle of annual activities and ad hoc projects. In this role, you will support the implementation and ongoing coordination of the Business Continuity and Crisis Management framework, working collaboratively with internal and Aviva plc stakeholders to meet requirements. You will build a strong understanding of the organisational model and operating environment to identify improvement opportunities and provide constructive challenge, ensuring resilience and recovery capabilities are robust and fit for purpose. You will also help embed a ‘resilience by design’ mindset across the business, support the delivery of the operational resilience strategy through effective governance and risk frameworks, and contribute to the timely and accurate reporting of resilience insights to key committees and governance forums.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong operational resilience experience within the financial services sector
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards (e.g. UK FCA/PRA Operational Resilience requirements, ISO 22301, EU DORA, Singapore MAS)
  • Practical experience in IT and disaster recovery (DR), including running crisis simulation exercises and coordinating joint third- and fourth-party scenario testing
  • Proven experience applying industry standards and best practice in governance frameworks
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Business Continuity Institute (BCI) or Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII))

What you’ll get for this role

  • Competitive salary (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Discretionary bonus opportunity - depending on individual performance and Aviva Investors!
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days!
