Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Quality Engineer. As a Quality Engineer at Terex based in Omagh, you’ll play a key role in driving a proactive quality culture across the organization. This role focuses on preventing defects, improving processes, and ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations. The Quality Engineer works closely with purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers to identify risks early, implement robust controls, and continuously improve quality performance.
About the Role
- Promote Terex Omagh quality standards, right first-time approach and zero-defect culture and best practice.
- Promote a culture of quality across the entire manufacturing process — from suppliers to the shop floor to the customer.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve consistency.
- Support creation and revision of Quality alerts, control plans, inspection standards and other quality documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S and process standardization.
- Support qualification of new local suppliers for castings, fabrications, and machined parts.
- Can use statistical methods to fault find & support solutions to technical issues, including but not limited to use of control plans and standard operating procedures.
- Be responsible for assuring bought-in products meet quality specific sign-off criteria, working with suppliers when issues arise.
- Where non-conformance exists, use initiative to introduce suitable manufacturing containment actions while working with the supply base (internal or external) & technical personnel to achieve long-term solutions for quality from root-cause analysis.
- Support day to day operations to ensure there is minimum impact to production because of quality related issues and attend regular meetings giving details of quality trends and actions.
- Support NPPD within the factory from design review stage through to prototype build.
- Be actively involved in every stage of the process to help guarantee its success.
- Assist on customer concerns/queries.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department.

Experience & Qualifications
- Engineering Qualification or equivalent experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment with quality/supplier quality experience.
- A proven track record of experience working in a manufacturing environment covering both fabrication and assembly disciplines.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and problem-solving techniques utilized throughout the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

- Experience in New product introduction and advanced product quality planning.
