As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help design and build solutions in the complex and challenging domain of Digital Rights Management. You will lead a squad of engineers, maintain focus on secure, quality code while providing guidance and mentorship. You will use automation to maximise efficiency and repeatability across the Software Development Lifecycle. You will participate in strategy and design discussions with key stakeholders and work in a fast‑paced, agile environment, developing solutions in Public Cloud. You will be a strong, confident communicator, comfortable liaising with senior leaders across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing technical leadership to software engineers in your squad
- Inspiring and mentoring more-junior engineers
- Working with enterprise architects to design optimised solutions that meet product requirements
- Coding secure, efficient and effective solutions
- Delivering solutions using Microsoft Azure capabilities
- Adopting DevOps principles to code, build and implement solutions
- Providing support to Reliability Engineering teams releasing the software that your team has built
- Ensuring that solutions conform to LSEG test strategy standards
- Working with Product Owners to understand requirements
- Providing accurate estimations for delivery together with the squad
- Providing commitments to deliver features and successfully meeting them
- Providing clear and concise communications to the squad and stakeholders
- Helping to attract and recruit talent to a growing team
- Remote work is a priority; you’ll work digitally first and spend time in the office as collaboration requires.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years of Software Engineering experience using C# .NET, relational and NoSQL databases, and Python
- 3+ years of experience leading successful engineering squads
- Demonstrable experience building applications in Public Cloud – ideally Microsoft Azure
- A good understanding of well-architected principles
- An empathetic, supportive leader able to inspire your team
- Motivation, self‑starting and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Strong written and spoken communication skills with an ability to present
- An enthusiasm to learn new technology and approaches, and to share them with others
- A willingness to undertake Azure certification
- An understanding of the financial information domain is desirable
- A desire to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
