Job Description / Preferred Qualifications

If so, KLA is looking for talented Product Install Engineer to join our European installation team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our advanced systems are installed and operating to the highest standards at customer sites across the region.

Your Impact

As a Product Install Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of deploying KLA’s PVD, Etch and CVD tools. You’ll collaborate with multicultural teams and travel to some of the most advanced semiconductor fabs in the world. Your work ensures that our tools are installed correctly, validated thoroughly, and ready to deliver value to our customers. In addition to technical expertise, you must be confident in communicating directly with customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the process. You will be required to follow and work according to documented best known method, and you will have to document the work you perform. The position is based in the UK with travel primarily within Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement & Planning: Conduct pre-installation meetings to understand and document customer-specific requirements. Develop action plans to meet unique customer needs and validate deliverables.
  • Tool Installation & Integration: Perform full system installations to meet KLA specifications, including: Physical install and connection, Precision alignment and calibration, Wafer handler robot setup and teaching, System-level calibrations and performance testing, Applications verification and product wafer validation.
  • Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot complex system issues using data analysis, abstract thinking, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Manage critical issues across multiple customer sites and regions.
  • Customer Validation & Satisfaction: Lead post-installation meetings to verify tool performance and ensure customer satisfaction. Conduct application testing to confirm operational quality. Maintain strong communication through regular updates and escalation meetings.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Deliver training on new product installations to global customer support teams.

Your Qualifications

Education & Experience: Engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, HNC or Degree etc. Proven experience in a hands-on Engineering role with Electrical and Mechanical experience.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with pneumatics, mechanics, electronics, radio frequency technology, metrology, and laser technologies is desirable. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across software, electronic, optical, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in computer systems and operating environments (e.g., MS Windows).

Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Adaptable & flexible. Willingness and availability to travel within the UK and Europe (approx. 70%). Occasional international travel may be required.
