SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As part of the SPTS Engineering division, the Equipment Engineering and Development Group is a multi-disciplined team, providing automation solutions to enable the integration of SPTS process systems into customer semiconductor fabrication factories worldwide! As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced/proven Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer with a detailed understanding of all aspects of electrical and electronic design. You would be working with other specialists in the group with equipment design/integration and expect to work to tight deadlines in a highly regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical / electronic control and interface design
  • Electrical assembly design
  • Design of electrical enclosures using Solid Edge
  • Wiring harness design
  • AC/DC power distribution circuit design
  • Analogue and digital circuit design
  • RF Circuit Design
  • Fault finding / problem solving
  • Designing critical safety circuits to comply with EN13849
  • Technical report writing
  • Producing engineering drawings, build and test guides.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience working in an electrical/electronic design role
  • Strong understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards, EN60204, EN13849 essential
  • Understanding of UL/NFPA regulations
  • Design of safety circuits
  • AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience
  • 3D CAD experience is desired

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
