Join as a Lighting Engineer in our Transportation team. We work on projects of all types and sizes, from large infrastructure and highway schemes to car parks with EV charging. Our projects are bringing digitalisation to lighting solutions and transforming the way people live and work. And you’ll be part of these collaborative design teams based across the country and the world. It’s an exciting era for lighting, with the rise of intelligent networks, active travel and net zero carbon. To lead in emerging areas that interest you, all you need to do is speak up and take the initiative. We offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base office location two days per week and at home for three days. The office locations are Epsom, Chelmsford, Nottingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.
Your role
- Responsible for the delivery of technical consultancy and design support related to multi‑disciplinary and exterior lighting projects as required.
- Liaising with customers in a responsive and client focused manner.
- Engaging with customers and other stakeholders to develop innovative low‑carbon solutions.
- Supporting the team with the development of technical solutions, reports and management of projects.
- Supporting the delivering projects to time and budget.
- Ensuring all work is delivered to a high level of quality and professionalism.
- Mentoring and supporting the development of more junior staff.
- Promoting the benefits of sustainable lighting solutions.
About you
- Experience of delivering a wide variety of exterior lighting and electrical solutions.
- Ability to apply lighting standards and your experience in such a way to deliver client requirements.
- Proficient in discipline related design software particularly AutoCAD and BIM related plugins, Lighting Reality and electrical cable sizing software.
- Experience of National Highways (NH) and/or local authority requirements.
- Ability to support the discipline lead on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Ability to understand the key client drivers and propose innovative low‑carbon solutions.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement with clients and contractors.
- Experience of undertaking daytime and night‑time lighting surveys and assessments.
