About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to make a real difference as Recovery Coach within our Newcastle Recovery Academy. Newcastle Recovery Academy is a 12-week structured community rehabilitation programme for adults (18+) in Newcastle. The programme is based on 12 step principles, psychosocial interventions, relapse prevention, and recovery capital development.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver structured abstinence based 12-week programme
  • Support service users through the programme as well as develop opportunities for community inclusion and sustained recovery.
  • Deliver non-structured sessions to support readiness for our 12 week programme.
  • Deliver one to one support and review sessions.
  • Manage a caseload of service users accessing the programme.
  • Ensure safeguarding is in place including effective risk assessments and management plans.
  • Work with wider partners to ensure service users have a wide range of support outside of the programme.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

  • Experience of working within the drug and alcohol field
  • Genuine interest in supporting people in Recovery
  • Experience of managing a caseload.
  • Experience of Group programme delivery.
  • Good understanding of Harm reduction approaches.
