This is a Warehouse Operative – Fixed Term until End of October 2026. The role is a Food Packer supporting operations. Regular roster of 4 on 2 off, shift 08:00-16:30, overtime at 1.5 times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all operating procedures to the best of your abilities.
  • Ensure the work area is kept safe and clean.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, health and safety in line with customer/company specifications.
  • Ensure standards of cleanliness and housekeeping meet company guidelines.
  • Report all accidents and take necessary preventive action.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and non‑verbally at all levels.
  • Ensure relevant entries are made in the diary log and that the log is checked at the beginning of each shift.
  • Be totally flexible within the role and unit departments.
  • Carry out quality checks with improvement action when required.
  • Assist in follow‑up of Quality Assurance/Health & Safety reports.
  • Take on any other duties as and when required.

Specific Duties by Department:

  • Production: Pack food liners in accordance with written specification. Accurately make up sample and product for all classes from specification. Conduct temperature, quality and product date checks. Seal flight canisters, trolleys and record numbers. Ensure correct marshalling of flights to Dispatch bays in assigned stowing order.
  • Bond: Receipt, handling and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating/manage stock. Sort and assemble bars into flights, working as a team to achieve targets. Check trolley seals and cross check with customs paperwork.
  • Dishwash: General washing, sorting, assembling, packing and positioning of the aircraft equipment. Process and strip trolleys and deliver to relevant department. Off load and sort equipment/food and ensure it is delivered to the correct processing area.
  • Stores: Load/off‑load lorries, stack shelves and replenish equipment/food items. Accurately palletize shipments from specification. Conduct quality and product date checks. Daily stock count of the list. Stock rotation. Clean the area.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to High School level.

Work Experience:

  • Good standard of English both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of basic hygiene.
  • Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment.
  • Experience of working in a fast‑paced deadline‑driven environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of English both reading and writing.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude to work.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Team worker.
  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn.
  • In addition to job‑related training, you will develop your skills in teamwork, time management, multitasking, communication and attention to detail.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For any time spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC for that country.
