The Finance Systems Team is responsible for supporting the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra), including time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax and reporting. We are seeking a Testing Analyst, ideally with Aderant and Finance Operations experience and/or knowledge, to join our EMEA team.
This role supports the provision of finance system quality by ensuring the functionality of the firm’s EMEA finance systems, and will have responsibility for the quality assurance (QA) and testing of financial management software and related practice management systems and integrations.
Key Responsibilities- Application Testing: plan, design and perform manual functional testing, system integration testing (SIT), technical testing, regression testing and end-to-end testing for software customisations, new modules, patches and upgrades.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: support user teams with acceptance testing.
- Defect Management: identify, document/map, track and resolve bugs and faults.
- Documentation: produce and maintain clear and concise testing documentation, including plans, test scripts, test cases, and summary reports.
- Quality Assurance: provide thorough quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle and document the results of test cycles.
- Issue Resolution: collaborate with third-party providers and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Continuous Improvement: assist Product Owner and application analysts with translating business requirements into technical solutions and identifying opportunities for system enhancements.
- We are seeking a meticulous, experienced tester with strong problem-solving skills and a history of working with financial systems and, ideally, finance operations.
- You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the business, particularly among IT, finance operations and third-party providers.
- Ideally degree educated in computer science or software engineering and/or a holder of a professional software testing qualification such as CAST, CMST or CSTP and/or 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
- Testing experience and/or expertise testing finance practice management systems (FPMS).
- Expert SQL proficiency and competence with test management tools and programming languages for automation.
- Experience within a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Familiarity with core finance processes and principles (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, reporting) ideal.
- Ideally experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, working in a software testing environment.
- A meticulous problem-solver with a proactive approach to work.
- Willingness to upskill on the job through internal and external training.
- Able to demonstrate discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Team player – flexible and willing to take on extra responsibilities to support departmental or firm objectives.
