We are looking for a Claims Dispute & Litigation Controller to join our Claims Team in Newcastle. This role sits within a growing Newcastle disputes practice with a primary focus on aviation-related claims, acting for major airline clients on passenger disputes. Alongside this, you will also gain exposure to a broader range of consumer disputes work, offering a varied and dynamic introduction to commercial litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop hands-on litigation experience within a global firm, working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist legally qualified colleagues in the conduct of high-volume consumer claims, both within the aviation sector and in other key sectors.
- Maintain accurate case management records and meet court deadlines.
- Review claims, client evidence, and other documentation to inform liability decisions.
- Draft legal documents including defences, witness statements, and other court forms.
- Support CPR-compliant case progression, produce exhibit bundles and hearing bundles.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, counsel, and third-party opponents.
- Attend mandatory mediation appointments.
- Produce post-trial reports feeding into a process of continuous improvement.
- Ensure efficient, commercially focused claims handling.
